Gamma Delta Pledge Class Rush Week and Induction

Before pledging to be in APO myself, I listened to most of my friends discuss all of the great events they took part in through the club. Being involved in the community has always been something I enjoy so APO seemed right up my alley! The Rush week was a fun way for everyone to meet one another. We began with the classic icebreaker “two truths and a lie," which always intimidates me at first but ended up being a really fun and relaxed night. The next night we played a massive game of Cards Against Humanity and, of course, that always guarantees a great time! Ice Cream day provided a nice way to take a break from classes on a Friday afternoon and free ice cream is never a bad thing. Lastly, our service project involved making cards and sending them to hospitals as part of the Children’s Miracle Network. Creating these colorful and cheerful cards was really a great and simple way to brighten a child’s day who is going through such a hard time.

The following Thursday marked the night of induction. On a Thursday night at 10:30 PM, we met at the Chapel and made the walk up to the stage (with closed eyes!) to start the induction. It was a really fun and meaningful night as we learned all about the history and mission of APO. We got to see all of the members and even got cool little APO pins. By the end of the night, I was very excited take the next step and begin my work with APO.
